ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Flowers bloomed across Rochester this weekend -- and not just because of Mother's Day.

Jessica Weiss brought her mobile flower bar to the Lilac Festival to celebrate moms.

Weiss and her family got the idea to turn an old horse trailer into a bouquet bar two years ago.

“My background is in nursing,” Weiss said. “I'm a registered nurse. I was looking for a creative outlet and a way to express myself and get a break from my job.”

Bar Fiore travels around to different festivals during the spring and summer, and spent this Mother’s Day at the Lilac Festival.

“We’ve been seeing moms already,” said Weiss. "They like to get their flowers early and don’t want to miss anything.”

Flower lovers can select what stems they want and create their own bouquets.

Seeing what creations customers come up is one of Weiss’s favorite parts.

“People come up with all different stuff, like things I wouldn’t have thought to put together, but it looks really good,” she said.

It’s not just about finding the perfect flower, For Weiss it’s about connecting with the community.

“They say it brings me peace and happiness and I think that’s something I love to see in people,” Weiss said.
