Staying fit, staying active and learning new things — that's what this next group is doing on the dance floor.

The Oasis Tappers  are a testament to the joy of dancing and how staying active and staying physically fit is good for the body and the mind.

Oasis has been tapping around the county for a long time and locally there are 18 tappers ranging in ages from 62 to 101.

Pat Andrews has been dancing most of her life.

“I danced as a kid, but when I started here, it was about 20 years ago," Andrews said.  Yes, I am 89 years young and I keep dancing to stay young, that is what you do. You have to keep going otherwise, you’re done!”

Lois Amato was a dance instructor for a long time and she is still dancing.

“It’s awesome. I just love it, that’s why I keep dancing," Amato said.

The Oasis Tappers perform all over the area at senior centers and senior living communities.
