Tens of thousands of people will line the streets of downtown Rochester for the TOPS Rochester St. Patrick's Day Parade, and Spectrum News is once again proud to broadcast it live, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Heading downtown? Check the forecast first. If you're staying inside, you can watch live here. Our Jillian Parker will host the parade broadcast along with Michelle Sextone from the parade committee.

The Rochester Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday on East Avenue and head west toward downtown.

Parade organizers estimate a baseline turnout of between 40,000 and 60,000 people, but on exceptionally nice March days, we could have north of 100,000 turn out.

Parking garages including the ones on South Clinton, Main, East Ave, and Woodbury will be open, and spots on side streets will go quickly. Police begin blocking traffic around an hour before the parade begins.

For those who prefer Uber or Lyft, good dropoff points include Alexander Street near East, which is where the parade begins, Union Street, E. Main and Chestnut Street, Clinton Avenue, South Avenue, and Exchange Boulevard, which is near where the parade route ends.

This is the 42nd marching of the green through downtown Rochester. If it's anything like last year's, you'll be in for a treat!
