The Gates-Chili School Board is looking for its new permanent leader.

Superintendent Kimberle Ward is on administrative leave until June 30, according to the board. She was originally set to retire at the end of the year. Spectrum News learned earlier this month that staff were told she was already out of the district without explanation.

Ward's position is being filled by Associate Superintendent for Instruction Carol Stehm.

The board hopes to have a permanent replacement by July 1.
