RIT rallied from down 3-1 in penalty kicks to win 4-3 and advance to the NCAA Division III women's soccer 2nd round over Susquehanna.

Rebecca Hext and Mary Hoey scored on the fifth and sixth penalty kicks as the Tigers advanced to play Messiah in the second round Sunday at Tiger Stadium

Emily Thiel ripped the rope from 25 yards out six minutes into regulation to tie the game 1-1.

The Tigers fell behind in the shootout but Hext's conversiion tied the shootout at 3-3 and forced sudden death, one round at time. Hoey converted and the River Hawks missed.

Across town, Ithaca defeated the U of R 1-0 in another first round game. William Smith defeated Westfield State 4-1 in Geneva to advance and play Tufts on Sunday in the second round.
