The federal government has been partially shut down for 12 days.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle met with President Trump on Wednesday, but emerged saying no progress was made. Thursday, Republicans surrender control of the House to Democrats, who will thus officially have control over shutdown negotiations, and negotiations on all policy.
