The clock is ticking for America and the rest of the world to reduce carbon emissions enough to prevent catastrophic climate change. 

New York has set its own goals for making the switch to renewable energy.

And now the industry is promoting a new option that can actually be carbon negative. 

It's called renewable natural gas, and it can be made form organic waste like food scraps and farm waste.
