His confirmation was, as you know, contentious, featuring several women who came forward with allegations of sexual abuse to his angry, emotional and testy denials before the Judiciary Committee. And - for a seat that, technically speaking, isn't supposed to be partisan - it was an extremely partisan process, creating an even larger divide among the two major parties.
