With the state facing a possible $4.4 billion deficit, all aspects of this year's budget will be impacted. When it comes to education funding, Governor Cuomo is proposing a 3-percent increase. However, that is only half of what the state Board of Regents has called for. And education advocates agree that the amount of aid in the executive budget will not be enough to keep up with the amount of school spending.
