The city and town of Canandaigua are encouraging residents to challenge the darkness we've been feeling this year with something beautiful and bright.

The Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce and the Canandaigua Business Improvement District created a new hashtag called #mytwinkle2020 to help business owners and residents shine bright together from afar.

Business owners and people at home are encouraged to voluntarily decorate, and then folks can tour the area after sunset from a COVID-19-friendly, safe distance in much smaller groups.

"We wanted to make it as easy as possible to be part of something bigger, because a lot of us right now feel really disconnected from a lot of stuff,” said Chamber President Ethan Fogg.

People can just share the experience on social media using #mytwinkle2020.
