Kelvin Benjamin came to Buffalo with high expectations, but the Bills in admitting the wide receiver was not working out released him, with Head Coach Sean McDermott saying "It obviously didn’t work."

Benjamin was traded to Buffalo in October 2017 for a 3rd- and 7th round pick. His Bills career was marred by injuries and inconsistency, with him scoring just two touchdowns and totaling 571 yards in 18 games.

Veteran wide receiver Andre Holmes was also let go. McDermott says it's now up to other members of that unit, like Zay Jones, to keep developing.

"We have young receivers that have stepped up in the past couple of weeks and showed some signs of their potential and flashed, probably better said. Our commitment to them is to give them better opportunities. To see them build a relationship with Josh [Allen], to see them develop, that’s important as we move forward," McDermott said.
