HOUSTON, Texas – The nation is continuing to remember the life of former President George H.W. Bush as he heads to his final resting place in College Station.

Thursday morning Bush was lying in repose at his family’s favorite church, Saint Martins, in Houston where he remained until his funeral. People lined up all night to pay their respects.

The family’s invite-only funeral service began at 10 a.m. After that Bush was transported via motorcade to the Union Pacific Westfield Auto Facility in Spring, Texas.

On his final ride, Bush was moved to a funeral train that will make the 70-mile trip to College Station. He will be laid to rest in the family plot behind the presidential library on Texas A&M campus alongside his wife Barbara and daughter Robin.

People are expected to line up along the train’s route to College Station to honor the late president.

The train making the trip is the 4141 George Bush locomotive that was unveiled in 2005 in honor of the 41st president. It is painted in the colors of Air Force One during his presidency.
