SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A bone marrow registry drive was held for two-year-old King Leon, known as Baby King.
King has a hereditary immune system disease called CD-40 Ligand Deficiency. Without a bone marrow transplant, it will likely become fatal. Two of his uncles died from the same disease.
To be a bone marrow donor you must be between 18 and 44 years old and in good health. All it takes is a cheek swab to determine if you're a match. A match is more likely when the donor and recipient are the same race.
"I just want them to come out and save my baby's life and help me out," said Denisha DeLee, King's mother. "There's only 7 percent black/African Americans on the registry. We need more. And not just for black people, for everyone."

Another drive is planned for next month. You can find more information about that by following "BabyKing315" on Instagram.
