More than 200 people showed up for a peaceful protest at Dow Park in Jamestown, asking for improvement in race relations.

The group begged the mayor, police chief, and sheriff for police reform and more training for officers.

"Their civil rights are dwindling and people are going to start fighting back,” said Anthony Hubbard of Jamestown. “They have to start standing up and then coming together as a United States. United we stand, divided we will fall. That has a lot of validity there. That has a lot of weight."

After the protest, the group marched through the city. Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist shared emotional words to those in attendance.

"You all have my commitment as mayor of the city to start to bring people together as soon as we safely can,” Sundquist said. “To be more inclusive, and I know one person said ‘I am going to hold you to that’ and I will tell you right now, you better."
