Olivia Leach joined the Spectrum News 1 Hudson Valley team in 2019 after working with ABC News. She grew up in New York City, but is no stranger to the Hudson Valley region. When she was younger, the area was one of her favorite places to frequent with her family, as they would visit often go hiking and apple picking. Her fondness of the region makes it feel like it was her destiny to live and work here.
For Olivia, working in a career where no two days are the same, and meeting new people every day are what inspires every story she covers. One particular story that exemplifies this is a feature she did on a 150-year-old historic black church in Goshen. Olivia met with church members for hours going through old pictures and news clippings about the church’s history. This story gave her the opportunity to connect with the community and to highlight parts of our community a lot of people may not be aware of.
When she isn’t tracking down her latest story, Olivia can be found hiking at Minnewaska State Park, one of the many places in the Hudson Valley with natural beauty, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and hanging with her pet cat Pocoyo.
