Volunteer crews are no longer needed to combat the Jennings Creek wildfire burning along the Hudson Valley's border with New Jersey.
Professional crews will continue the work now that the fire is 90% contained and 80% controlled as of Wednesday night, according to the State Park Police.
Today's rain is expected to help with suppression efforts. People living in the area of the fire can also expect to see some falling trees due to soil erosion.
Officials are asking residents to abide by the statewide burn ban, which runs through Nov. 30.
