Students in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District will see increased security on the high school campuses.

In a letter to families, the district's acting superintendent said security will be increased this week at each campus of the Newburgh Free Academy.

The security team's job will be to monitor the perimeter of each school, make sure students go from class to class safely and ensure safety at the cafeteria.

This comes after an incident near the Newburgh Free Academy last month where four teens were shot.

The campuses were closed following the incident.

The acting superintendent also asked parents and students to review their code of conduct.
