The coronavirus has claimed the life of Middletown Fire Department Chaplain Reverend Dominick Reyes.

Throughout his 6 years with the department, Reyes would counsel, cheer up, and pray for anyone who needed it.

After 10 weeks fighting COVID-19, Reyes lost his battle last week. Middletown Fire Chief Don Luis described Reyes as a great chaplain and friend.

“If you needed somebody, if you needed an ear, it didn’t matter what he was doing, he’d stop and listen to you and give you words of inspiration," Luis said.

Before Middletown, Reyes was a chaplain for a fire department in New York City and the Veterans Fireman’s Association.
