There is a new way to cross the books off of the kids' summer reading list. JetBlue airline unveiled free book vending machines Thursday.

The program is called "Soar with Reading," and it aims to increase availability of books in underserved communities.

Books will be available through September 6th and the program will give away one-hundred-thousand books to kids this summer.

"We change the books every two weeks and kids can get as many books as they want. We really want to encourage kids to build their own libraries and to encourage book ownership,” said Icema Gibbs, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for JetBlue.

Vending machines are found at Riverbank State Park in Manhattan, the Brownsville Recreation Center in Brooklyn, PAL, Inc, New South Bronx Center, Queens Public Library and Ocean Bay Community Cornerstone, and Faber Park on Staten Island.
