Orange Regional Medical Center resumes normal operations after sterilization issues caused them to stop performing surgeries for a time.

As of Friday, they were unable to take patients in their emergency department and had to send those patients elsewhere. They were still able to conduct emergency services, certain elective surgeries and their obstetrics unit was fully operational.

Representatives of the hospital say no surgeries were conducted using instruments that caused the sterilization concern. They were even able to get sterile surgical trays from Catskill Regional Medical Center each day.

Now that the sterilization equipment and process is back at optimum level, representatives say ORMC is back to normal.
