After 30 years, organizers say the Newburgh International Festival still brings the community together.

The family-friendly event runs through Monday with carnival rides and games, food and performances.

The festival started on the waterfront but later moved to the Delano Hitch Recreation Park on Washington street.

Organizer and former council woman Regina Angelo says she wanted to create something that brought the community together in a positive way.

"The people look forward to this, I know that," says Angelo. "I like to keep things happening in the city. That's my idea, as long as you keep people happy there's less problems."

The event runs until 11pm on Saturday and Sunday, and from noon to 10 pm on Labor day.
