Every day, Elvia Crump lights a candle and prays for the safe return of her daughter, 31-year-old Shaniece Harris of Rock Hill. She went missing on May 29.

It’s a night that plays over and over in theminds of Shaniece’s loved ones, including her older sister Tameka Ramos.

"She always told me every move she made," Ramos said. "The night that she went missing, I spoke to her less than an hour before she disappeared, and I asked her to stay home."

Sheriff’s representatives say Shaniece’s car was found in an area on South Woods Drive in the Town of Thompson. They say they’ve been searching the area on a weekly basis and have even expanded their search area since her car was first found. They've also been speaking with people in the community.

"Many, many leads. None have really given us her," said Chief Blake Muthig. "So we still carry this as a missing persons investigation and we work on it every day."

Shaniece’s family is hoping that someone comes forward with information that can help bring her home.

"When something like this happens, you begin to see how cruel the world is. It wasn’t cruel before this," Ramos said.

"I want my daughter home, and if you know something that could help me bring her home, I would be so grateful," Crump said.

If you have any information about what happened to Harris, you can contact the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office tip line at (845) 807-0158. Harris' sister also wants people to know that it's important to call the police right away if someone goes missing. She said she first contacted the Monticello Police Department, but they told her she had to wait 24 hours and needed to call the sheriff's office, because it was out of their coverage area.
