The NYPD says a Monroe man was trying to parallel park his SUV when he jumped the curb and ran into a crowd of people. 

Police have arrested 70-year-old Henry Herman. They say he was in the Chinatown neighborhood last night parking his car when he lost control and ran into seven people, killing one of them. 

The name of the deceased has not been released yet.

Herman is charged with a number of traffic violations, including failure to yield to pedestrians and unsafe backing of a vehicle.
