President Trump on Thursday traveled to a Texas border town to make the case for his wall after negotiations with congressional leaders blew up on Wednesday. Trump is seeking to use the trip to bolster his argument that a barrier is needed on security and humanitarian grounds.

While the president was in Texas members of Congress were in Washington.

Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney from the Hudson Valley responds to the possibility that the president could use executive power and circumvent congress to get money for his border wall.
