A coalition of religious and progressive groups is calling on lawmakers to put low income and middle class New Yorkers front and center during the state budget process.

The group wants to see an end to the governor's two percent spending cap, higher taxes on the wealthy, and property tax relief at the local level. They are calling this the New Hope New York Budget.

Mike Kink of Strong Economy for All, Reverend Peter Cook from the New York State Council of Churches, and Reverend Emily McNeill from the Labor-Religion Coalition discuss.
