The city of Syracuse is under a Snow Safety Alert. This comes as lake effect snow is expected for some of the Finger Lakes, Central New York, the Mohawk Valley and the North Country through Sunday.

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is cautioning drivers about potentially tough road conditions and reminding them to heed the odd-even parking restrictions.

"We urge everyone to adhere to parking regulations to assist our plows in efficiently clearing city roads, especially with the heavy snowfall expected to begin Friday evening," Walsh said in a statement.

For more information on parking restrictions, check the city's website.

The city is asking residents to keep their sidewalks clear as well as around fire hydrants.

You can find a live map of the city's plows on the city's website.
