Friday night, lake effects snow showers will lift north of Syracuse and start to work into the Watertown area early Saturday morning.
This lake effect then looks to taper on Saturday, making way for partly sunny skies. Following a cold morning with temperatures in the teens and 20s, we should recover into the 30s and low 40s Saturday afternoon. Wind chills during the afternoon will be in the 20s and low 30s.
While there will be plenty of dry time on Sunday, the risk for a couple of rain or snow showers will return to the forecast. Sunday won't be as chilly with highs in the 40s.
Our attention turns to the arrival of a new system Monday and into Tuesday with the potential for more snow.
Accompanying this system and behind it, another shot of cold air will move in early next week. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 20s heading towards Tuesday and Wednesday.
