Unseasonable warmth and humidity will bring a summery day to Upstate New York on Sunday. After some isolated rain showers in the morning, turns warm and humid with periods of sun for the afternoon.

Sunday Highs:

  • Central New York: 75 - 84
  • North Country: 70s/80
  • Southern Tier: 80 - 85

Sunshine will increase instability in the atmosphere. Combined with a large supply of moisture and a passing front, thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening will be present. These storms have the potential of producing very heavy downpours and strong/damaging wind gusts.

Heavy rain could lead to ponding of water and some minor flooding, while wind gusts could produce damage to sidings, roofs and bring down trees/power lines.

Showers and storms continue through a mild and breezy night with lows in the 60s.

  • Central New York: 61 - 66
  • North Country: 56 - 63
  • Southern Tier: 62 - 67

Monday, with a passing front, we could see more showers and storms producing heavy downpours. Strongest storms are anticipated in the early morning. Highs in the 70s.

Turns dryer and cooler midweek, with highs as low as the 60s.

Temperatures rebound towards the end of the week, which stays mostly dry.
