From southwest to northeast, widespread snow builds in across the region due to an area of low pressure moving to our south. Snow starts in the Southern Tier and Central New York in the evening, and shy of midnight across the North Country. Snow will come down light to moderate overnight, making travel slick and slow. Some freezing drizzle could mix in across the Southern Tier.

Steadier snow Monday morning with taper to scattered snow showers by Monday afternoon. Monday morning will be a slow go on roadways. Concluding the event, most areas will find 2 - 4” of snow with localized 5”+. The exception is St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton counties that see lower totals between a trace - 3”. 

Outside of lake snow/flurries south of Lake Ontario on Tuesday, the day will be mainly dry and cold. Highs on Tuesday will be in the teens and low 20s. A wintry mix comes in Wednesday night into Thursday.
