It will remain bitterly cold from the North Country through Central New York and down to the Southern Tier overnight into early Tuesday morning.  Here are actual low air temperatures we're expecting tonight:

Central New York:  +/- 0s

North Country:  -10s/-20

Southern Tier:  +/- 0s

When you factor in a blustery northwest wind, it will feel even colder.  Expect wind chill values to range from the single digits to 30s below zero through Tuesday morning.  Be sure to take appropriate precautions to keep yourself warm by bundling up, dressing in layers.

Temperatures and wind chill values will improve as we head into Tuesday afternoon.  Expect morning sunshine to give way to increasing clouds.  Here is a breakdown of our forecast highs:

Central New York:  upper-teens, low-20s

North Country:  10s/20

Southern Tier:  mid-20s

Our temperatures then briefly spike up to around 40 on Wednesday as our next weather maker approaches.  This will bring us a wintry mix and some slippery travel Wednesday morning, but precipitation type should flip to rain Wednesday afternoon.

Colder air then works back in on Thursday as we transition back to snow showers.  Expect highs to be in the 30s.

Temperatures turn even colder from there, as we're in the 20s on Friday and teens by Saturday.

Snow shower chances remain in the forecast through at least early next week.
