Meteorologist Michael Gouldrick was born and raised in Webster.
After graduating with a degree in earth science in 1986, Michael spent time living in Colorado, Florida and St. Croix working in construction. In 1993, Michael returned to Rochester and attended SUNY Brockport graduating magna cum laude with a degree in meteorology. Michael is happy to work and raise his children Hannah and Reis in his hometown of Rochester.
Michael joined the Spectrum News 1 team in 2003 and became the Director of Meteorology in 2005. A rooted part of the community, Michael looks forward to providing his viewers with the latest forecast each day. This Press Club Award winner recalls many major weather events that have occurred over the years. During these times, Michael emphasizes the importance of delivering the facts to his viewers in the most timely and responsible manner possible.
Some of Michael’s favorite things to do in Rochester include boating on Lake Ontario, exploring the great eateries around the city and golfing. A fun fact about Michael is that he has worked as a dishwasher, roofer and pizza maker! When he’s not telling us about the weather, you can find him doing some remodeling projects or spending time with his wife of 29 years, Colleen, and their two children.
