Accumulation from the weekend snowfall in the North Country could total more than four feet by the time the lake-effect system is supposed to wind down on Monday. Areas like Watertown and the Tug Hill Plateau took the brunt of the storm.

Residents there say that even with all this snowfall, it's nothing they aren't used to.

"I'm used to it," said Jarratt Justice of Watertown. "It's my first year back from Michigan in a couple of years."

The lake effect front is also expected to hit Central New York and the Mohawk Valley through Monday.

"What do you expect? We're going to get hit hard," Justice said. "It happens."

Lewis County has downgraded its no-unnecessary-travel advisory to a travel advisory, asking that people "please use caution and allow extra time to reach your destination." Jefferson County has canceled its initial travel advisory.
