Syracuse city leaders are looking to make Armory Square more pedestrian friendly.

Members of the Metropolitan Transportation Council spoke with people who go to the popular downtown neighborhood.

One theme for business owners and neighbors was having places to walk.

"The ideas that we have are ideas that are used in a lot of other cities and that enhance pedestrian safety," said Aaron McKeon, of the SMTC. "The idea of something like a raised intersection is designed to slow cars down so that cars going through that busy Clinton [and] Walton street intersection they're slowing down a little bit to give pedestrians time to cross the street."

The city will take a look at the designs that are submitted.
