Fire crews put out a fire in a commercial auto garage in Port Jervis.

The Port Jervis Fire Department, as well as numerous back up, responded to L & S Auto Sales on East Main Street Thursday afternoon.

Fire officials say half the building was on fire when they arrived.

No injuries were reported, but the building has substantial damage.

"We're of the understanding that they were working on some vehicles and the vehicles caught on fire and spread out through the building extremely fast," said Port Jervis Fire Department Deputy Chief Jim Rohner.

The fire chief says the cause is still under investigation, but does not seem suspicious.
