This is the 51st year of the Syracuse Arts and Crafts Festival. Artists from a wide variety of mediums will be taking over Columbus Circle this weekend. From textiles to ceramics and wood, lots of art will be up for sale.

“It’s actually the second largest festival after the Taste of Syracuse, and what we love about this event is that it’s so family friendly," said Merike Treier, Downtown Syracuse Committee Executive Director. “And so not only are you able to come downtown and explore all the different arts and crafts, you have the festival food, you have the lively atmosphere.”

There are 130 artists setting up shop in Columbus Circle this year, with about half of them coming from New York. Many artists are coming from across the country. Their work will be judged by their peers, and they’ve all been invited to attend.

Art won’t be the only thing at this weekend’s festival. You can also hear strolling musicians and see Syracuse City Ballet dancers.

“We have a number of food vendors, so traditional festival food, but also like Mediterranean and wraps, sweet treats, but then also some family-friendly activities and demonstrations that will be happening throughout the weekend," said Treier.

The three-day event will stretch onto every street branching out from Columbus Circle. The Arts and Crafts Festival runs Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday/Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Not too far away, a couple other festivals happening this weekend.

The first annual Stay Fresh Chalk Jam will be on Montgomery Street, Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. near City Hall. The Northeast Wine and Jazz Festival put on by CNY Jazz returns to Clinton Square Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at noon.
