The Cavalcade of Cars is an event that's had success for close to 30 years in Western New York. Now it's coming to the state fairgrounds this weekend for the first time.
We know from the Syracuse Nationals how much Central New Yorkers love classic cars. The new show is a way to give folks a dose of classics and hot rods before car show season begins outdoors in a few months.

With many of the car owners in the Cavalcade of Cars coming from across the state, organizers decided to host an event as part of what they're calling a “Thruway Series.” Both Saturday and Sunday, you'll find the Center of Progress filled with classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.
The show runs Saturday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is $12 at the door and free for children younger than 12.
Organizers said they believe this event will will be a great fit for the area.
"Syracuse, New York, is a car community. It's not just about the Nationals, it's about the community," said Cavalcade of Cars Promoter Roger Youmans. "And they love their cars and cruise nights everywhere, and we just want to have something where everyone can enjoy it."
Youmans said the Cavalcade of Cars has raised more than $100,000 for local charities since its inception. It now works closely with the Buffalo Autism Project.
For this particular show, some of the proceeds will go back to Families First of Central New York, which helps people impacted by autism.
The show will also include live music, vendors and kids' activities. Youmans said there could be more to come if it has success.
