Syracuse basketball's 91-year, once-ferocious rivalry with the Georgetown Hoyas will be extended in a matchup in Washington, D.C. next season on Saturday, December 11.

The Orange beat their former Big East foe, 74-69 at the Carrier Dome last season behind 21 points from Buddy Boeheim. Syracuse forward Marek Dolezaj also famously lost a tooth battling for a rebound in the closing minutes of the hard-fought contest.

SU leads the all-time series that dates back to 1930, 52-44 as the two iconic basketball schools get set for their 97th meeting.

Hoyas coach Patrick Ewing is entering his fifth season at the helm of his alma mater, having led Georgetown to the Big East Tournament title last season, the school's first since 2007. Ewing, however, is just 1-3 against Syracuse as a head coach, with the lone victory coming in D.C. back in December of 2019.

Syracuse has one other game on the schedule in December so far, a December 18th home date against Lehigh. The Orange are also slated to face Cornell next season but no date has been announced. SU is also reportedly going to face Villanova in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden, and that game will also likely be played in December.
