Hours after star attackman Chase Scanlan was arrested on charges stemming from a domestic incident last month, the Syracuse lacrosse team blew out Robert Morris in the regular season finale Friday afternoon, 21-14.

While the game was being played inside the Carrier Dome, Scanlan was being arraigned in downtown Syracuse on a charge of criminal mischief and a misdemeanor count of harrassment from an incident involving his ex-girlfriend April 18. He was initially suspended from the team indefinitely, but then reinstated by head coach John Desko on April 26. SU announced Friday afternoon that Scanlan, the team's leading goal-scorer this season, had been suspended again from all athletic participation.

Without him in the lineup for the third straight game, the Orange scored a season-high 21 goals, including a school record-tying seven by freshman attackman Owen Hiltz. He added two assists for a season-best nine points, while junior Owen Seebold added five goals and two assists for Syracuse. Junior midfielder Tucker Dordevic added a hat trick to help SU finish the regular season with a winning record at 7-5, all but ensuring an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament.

After the game, Desko was again prevented from answering any questions pertaining to Scanlan's arrest, even dodging questions on how he thought it impacted his team both Friday, and the potential effect moving forward. It's extremely unlikely Scanlan will be reinstated again this season, if ever, to the men's lacrosse team at Syracuse.

The Orange will learn of their bid for the 2021 NCAA tournament during the selection show at 9:00 pm Sunday night on ESPNU.
