Coming off consecutive losses at No. 1 Louisville and Clemson, the unranked Syracuse women's basketball team bounced back with an 80-57 blowout of Pittsburgh, the 19th straight SU win in the series.
Syracuse (8-3, 5-3 ACC) roared out of the gates on a 17-2 run to start the game, and finished the contest on a 27-6 spurt to win by 23 points after the Panthers had trimmed the lead to two. Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi led all scorers with 17 points in just 15 minutes of action off the bench, one of five Orange players who scored in double figures. Emily Engstler notched her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, including the 500th rebound of her Syracuse career.
Freshman Priscilla Williams started and scored 11 points, as did classmate Kamilla Cardoso, who added eight rebounds and a game-high four blocked shots. Senior guard Kiara Lewis was the fifth Syracuse player in double figures with 12 points and a game-high seven assists.
The runaway victory was SU's 10th straight over Pitt (4-5, 2-4 ACC) at the Dome, and the win kicks off another busy four games in eight days stretch. Next up, Syracuse hosts perennial power Notre Dame at the Dome Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m.
