Neither team made the NCAA women's basketball tournament, but both Siena and UAlbany will have more postseason hoops to play.
The UAlbany women, regular-season champions of the America East Conference, earned an automatic bid to the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament, a tournament the NCAA sponsors for teams who missed the NCAA tournament. The Great Danes (26-6), who fell to Vermont in the America East championship game, will travel to Philadelphia on Thursday to face Saint Joseph's.
Siena's women earned an automatic bid to the Women's National Invitational Tournament, with brackets and matchups to be revealed today. The Saints finished 17-13 this season, but will play in their first postseason tournament outside of conference play in 10 years.
