When the Colgate football team takes to the field next fall, they will have a new head football coach.

Raiders head coach Dan Hunt resigned from his position at the university on Monday.

In a statement released by Colgate Athletic Director Dr. Nikki Moore, Hunt's decision to step down is to "address personal issues, following the discovery of violation of university policy not involving students. The matter was reviewed by leadership in the Department of Athletics with the support of University administration and members of the Board of Trustees."

Hunt had been the head coach at Colgate since 2014, leading the program to Patriot League Titles in 2015, 2017 and 2018. In more than six seasons at Colgate, Hunt amassed a record of 27-11 in league play.

The Raiders have tabbed Stan Dakosty, Colgate’s associate head football coach since 2017, as the interim head coach for the 2021 season.
