Alan Griffin's career at Syracuse University will reportedly be a short one. Just one year in fact.

According to reports, Griffin will declare for the NBA draft and hire an agent.

He will be the third Orange from this past season to at least test the waters of turning professional. Just last week, Marek Dolezaj announced he would not return to SU, instead pursuing a professional basketball career. Prior to him, Quincy Guerrier announced he would test the NBA process but would not hire an agent at the moment. In deciding to hire an agent, Griffin can no longer return to SU, should he change his mind.

Griffin transfered to Syracuse ahead of this past basketball season from Illinois. Griffin averaged just over 13 points per game this season for the Orange. He also led the team in blocked shots with 46.

With Griffin potentially leaving the Orange, Syracuse will now have lost six potential players from this past season's starting lineup and rotation. Adam Zagoria was the first to report on Griffin's decision to turn professional.
