Alex Barre-Boulet has been arguably the Crunch best player in the past two seasons.
After leading the team in goals scored each of the past two years, Barre-Boulet is now skating with Tampa Bay ahead of the NHL playoffs. As part of the team's black aces, Barre-Boulet may not get into game action, but he's enjoying the experience.
But, the experience of joining the NHL playoffs might be a little different this season for the Crunch all-star. When the coronavirus halted both the NHL and AHL seasons, Barre-Boulet was dealt a time of uncertainty.
However, like a professional, Barre-Boulet stayed in shape in the chance he would be called to the Lightning for playoffs. With several other players, BB skated in his home province of Quebec before getting the phone call to join Tampa Bay.
Now, he's getting his first chance at playoff practice; albeit in a bubble. Just like the NBA, the NHL will host is postseason in a bubble, with games to be played in Toronto and Edmonton.
In concert with the precautions, players are staying in hotels and isolating themselves from the public. Regardless, Barre-Boulet is enjoying his NHL postseason experience.
