SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: After suffering a blowout loss to Clemson in front of the first sold out crowd at the Carrier Dome since 1998, the Orange football team gathered at the Block "S" at midfield to have a conversation. They looked up at the "41-6" score and arm-in-arm talked about what they were feeling, and how they never wanted to feel that way again.
Fast forward a few days, and the Orange has been all about regrouping and recharging for the next task at hand. That next test will be another home game against Western Michigan. The Broncos are led by Tim Lester, the former SU Offensive Coordinator. Last year, the Orange had their hands full with Western Michigan on the road. Led by Eric Dungey, SU took down WMU by a final score of 55-42.
At media availability on Tuesday, the player clearly were eager to get back on the field and prove that they're a team to watch out for this season.
Both Kendall Coleman and Tommy DeVito had a lot to say about how the team is feeling right now, and how they're going to flip the script this week. "There's room and there's time to figure things out and bounce back as a team," Coleman said. "We've got time to get this thing right."
The sophomore quarterback, who was sacked 8 times by Clemson, says that getting W's is all about the team effort. "You've got to be your 1/11th. Every person has to do their own job so if one person isn't doing it sometimes the play isn't executed the right way and that's what has been happening and we've got to be better moving forward."
For Coleman, DeVito and the rest of the squad, they're hoping to get back on the right track and earn their first home win of the season Saturday at noon.
