SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: Tommy DeVito has been patiently waiting his turn to take over the starting QB role at SU. Over the last two seasons, the Jersey boy has held the role of Eric Dungey's understudy. It's familiar territory for DeVito, who served as a backup in high school and then ended up being one of the top quarterbacks in his class.
It's been clear all offseason that DeVito would be QB1. Last season, he played in eight games as a bench player, and notched four touchdowns. He even was center stage for the new Cuse football uniform reveal at Turning Stone back in June.
Now all of the suspense is coming to an end. Tommy will make his first start against Liberty on Saturday, with all of the Orange Empire watching to see how well he runs the offense. If what he did his senior year of high school (2,005 yards, 16 TD) is any indication, the Empire could be in for a treat.
