The Friday Night Matchup featured West Genesee in a sectional quarterfinal contest with CBA. It was the first home playoff game for the Wildcats since 2011.

The stands were packed with fans supporting both teams in the 3-seed vs 6-seed meeting. The Wildcats struck first on their first possession after forcing a CBA fumble. West Genesee was dominant on offense and defense, holding CBA scoreless through the first half.

The Brothers finally got on the board in the fourth quarter thanks to a pick-six by Jack Szatkowski. At that point it was too late for the visitors, who ended up falling to West Genny by a final score of 38-8.

The Friday Night Matchup player of the game was Brad May, who had 92 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. “We were able to run the ball, we were able to pass the ball. We were getting everything we wanted out there,” May said after.

With the win, West Genny (7-1) punched a ticket to the Class AA semifinals, where they’ll square off with 2-seed Liverpool.
