SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Solvay pitcher Lauren Nichols struck out 17 batters in a 2-0 win over Oneida in the Class B title game. Offensively, the Bearcats only put up three hits, but they were timely in the victory. The biggest hit for Solvay came in the 5th inning off the bat of Aleah Yaizzo, who ripped one to the wall for an RBI triple. It's the 4th sectional title win for Solvay in the last five years, who will play Susquehanna Valley in the state quarterfinals on Friday.
