Also known as the “One Woman Bandit,” Fadia Patterson joined Spectrum Bay News 9 as an award winning multimedia journalist in February 2021.

Fadia Patterson is excited to be back in Florida after most recently reporting for our sister station, Spectrum News in Buffalo. A graduate of Florida State, Fadia began her career in South Florida and has traveled far and wide following her broadcasting dreams as a reporter in New York, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee.  During her stop in Tennessee, she completed her Master’s degree in Communications at Middle Tennessee State University.

As an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Fadia served on the national and local level to mentor young journalists of color. Dedicated to helping others accomplish their goals, Fadia also writes her own aptly named blog entitled One Woman Bandit, which serves as a journal for her adventures as a multimedia journalist as well as provides insider information and helpful techniques that anyone can use to become a successful reporter.

When Fadia isn’t working her beat, you can find her out and about engaged in the community and across the Tampa Bay area. Fadia is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and in her downtime, this proud Seminole can be found rooting on her alma mater!
