Andy Young is a multimedia journalist at Spectrum News 1 in Buffalo.
A native of Jamestown, NY, Andy is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. He began his television news career at WLIO-TV in Lima, Ohio, where he served as sports director, anchor and reporter.
After several years in the Buckeye State, Andy returned to his Western New York roots to join Spectrum News in 2011. Since then, he has covered the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, the area's minor league teams, along with college and high school sports. In 2017, he shifted to covering daily news stories in addition to continuing to report on sports.
His news coverage has included politics, breaking news, crime, human interest stories and many issues affecting the community. He prides himself on being a thorough, accurate and compassionate storyteller.
Andy has received numerous accolades for his reporting, including three prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow awards and Associated Press awards.
Andy is married and has two young children. He enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering to coach their youth sports teams, playing golf and basketball and collecting vintage professional wrestling action figures.
