Melissa Krull joined the Spectrum News team in July 2015 as a videojournalist in the Mohawk Valley Newsroom.

Melissa is a Central New York/Adirondacks region native, growing up in the Herkimer County Town of Ohio. She realized her passion for the television industry while attending Herkimer BOCES during high school. Before she even graduated, Melissa became an intern at the FOX/ABC affiliate in Utica, and was later hired as a Production Assistant at the station. Melissa was involved in a little bit of everything in her time there, including producing and hosting a weekly newsmagazine show, "Hello Central New York.”  At the same time, she was working toward her degree at Herkimer County Community College, and produced newscasts and other programs airing on the college's television station, HCTV.  Balancing school and work was a challenge, but Melissa says it all paid off when HCTV News and a feature piece she produced for HCTV both won prestigious awards from the New York State Associated Press.

Melissa is thrilled to be reporting in the Mohawk Valley Newsroom, in an area she calls home. In her spare time, Melissa likes to ride horses, volunteer, and enjoy local events.
